What should a company actually look for when choosing an e-waste and battery recycling service?
I'm comparing several options for electronic and battery waste disposal for our organization. Not sure what to prioritize first. Does certification matter more than pricing or is the actual collection process the main thing to evaluate?

Had a pretty similar situation a while back when we needed to set up a proper disposal process for electronics and batteries at our location. After going through a few options I found that the ones worth considering were the ones where the process was explained in enough detail to actually understand what happens to the materials after collection. I checked this link among others and what stood out was that compliance with state and federal regulations was mentioned clearly rather than just implied. That kind of transparency tends to be a decent signal when comparing providers. Beyond that I paid close attention to whether containers for on site collection were included since having to sort out your own equipment separately adds unnecessary friction to the whole process. Certifications also matter more than I initially thought because they indicate the company operates within recognized standards rather than just claiming they do. I would suggest looking at whether a provider handles both electronics and batteries under one arrangement since splitting that across multiple vendors tends to get complicated. Price is one factor but the clearer the terms and the more concrete the description of what is included the less likely you are to run into unexpected gaps later on.
